THE Petrobras signed, on Tuesday (19), the contract to start the construction of four shipswhich are part of the company’s fleet renewal strategy.
The statement was made during the opening of NavalShore 2025, the largest maritime industry fair in Latin America, which is held in Rio de Janeiro until Thursday (21).
According to Transpetro president Sérgio Bacci, the works can be started by Ecovix, owner of the Rio Grande shipyard, in Rio Grande do Sul. The finishing and commissioning of the units will be done by the Mac Laren shipyard, from Niterói, Rio Metropolitan Region.
“This is all the richness of Brazil, and its development is only possible through state public policies. This type of event plays a fundamental role for society to understand the importance of these policies,” said the National Secretary of Waterways and Navigation of the Port and Airport Ministry, Dino Antunes Dias Batista.
The president of the National Union of Naval and Offshore Construction and Repair Industry (Sinaval), Ariovaldo Rocha, highlighted the growing demand for maritime support vessels and ships and offshore structures in the country.
