We will not allow prejudice against the northern region, says Sabino

The Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, classified as misconception Restriction on the sale of traditional foods from Paraense cuisine On the United Nations Conference on Climate Change Conference (COP30), scheduled for November in Belém.We will not allow prejudice against the northern region, says Sabino

“There was a mistake, already recognized by those who made this mistake. The selection notice of those who would provide food for COP, in special spaces, prohibited the entry of the main ingredients of our gastronomy. See: Acai, Tucupi and Maniçoba”he said, as he participated in an interview with radio stations during the Good Morning Program, Minister, Brazil Communication Company (EBC).

“Under an argument that we react promptly and we will never accept. As we are revolting when people want, in an ignorant way, let’s say, because they do not know, discredit or speak badly in the northern region of the country, Pará, the city of Belém,” he added.

For Sabino, to prevent these products from entering the tables of COP30 would be the same as “inviting people to a steakhouse and, coming on time, saying that it will not serve barbecue.” “No one talked about the ram or typical foods that were served, for example, at the Dubai COP.”

“We have been spending the last few days having to talk a lot about hostingon accommodation quality, abusive hosting prices and now about our gastronomy. Behind all this there is a desire for many people that this cop did not happen in Belém. ”

“There is a kind of internal prejudice within the head of many people over the northern region and the people of the northern region. But it was a shot that came out a lot for the culattra. Belém’s gastronomy is something that everyone recognizes as one of the largest and most delicious gastronomies on the planet.”
