El Alto opens its first “electrolinera” to promote the use of electric vehicles

The city of El Alto opened the first “electrolinera” in the city, to promote the change of changing the country’s energy matrix. In the place electric power charge for motorized vehicles is offered free of charge for one year.

“Today (yesterday) the city of El Alto inaugurates the first charging station. Just as there are gas stations, now we have charging stations, because it is important to be aware that little by little the planet needs to change the energy matrix in all countries”, declared President Luis Arce, at the award ceremony.

The inauguration was attended by authorities from the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and was presented for the anniversary of the Alteña city.

The “electrolinera” is located in the Villa Bolívar “E” zone, and it cost 350,000 bolivianos.

It has two connection points that can charge up to two vehicles simultaneously. It will provide free charging to users of cars and other electric vehicles, to encourage the use of renewable energy.

The head of the Hydrocarbons and Energies portfolio, Franklin Molina, said that the goal is that with the National Electricity Company (ENDE) the service of charging stations is universalized.
