Alejandro Toledo remains stable in health, reports the INPE

The National Penitentiary Institute (INPE) on Monday reported that the former president Alejandro Toledo It maintains a stable state of health, despite having said to feel bad and request its transfer to a clinic during the Appeal Hearing to the sentence of 20 years and six months in prison that weighs against him for the Odebrecht case.

Through an official statement, the INPE said that the ex -president has a stable hemodynamic clinical state and that their chronic diseases are controlled, without significant variations in their medical evolution.

“Strictly complies with its habitual medical treatment under direct supervision. It also receives periodic control from the treating medical team and continuous monitoring by professional nursing personnel 24 hours a day,” said the penitentiary entity.

During the appeal hearing, Toledo claimed to suffer problems of anxiety, depression, blood pressure and bleeding episodes, which described as a risk to his health. “It scares me, I confess them at the human level, the issue of bleeding,” he said.

The INPE stressed that the attention provided to the ex -president is carried out in accordance with the established protocols and in respect of the fundamental rights of the entire penitentiary population.
