According to the Secretary General of the Community Neighborhood Board (Juveco) of Chalacalá Alta, Wilmer Rosales, who has been helping in the transfer of family members and search for the young man, a carrier was the one who told him that he saw when Santos Erazo was drowning.

After that, some residents threw themselves to the channel and tried to rescue him, but unfortunately it was dragged and disappeared in these waters.
Near the channel, they found their backpack with clothes and personal documents of Erazo. Meanwhile, since that afternoon, residents and relatives have been looking for the body of the 25 -year -old.
While yesterday, the police personnel of the Sullana Rescue Unit were added to the search, together with residents, but until the closing of this edition, the body was not found.
According to the leader Wilmer Rosales, who was from the beginning that the events occurred, they toured the channel from Chalacalá, Cieneguillo and to Curumuy.
Given this, they asked for those in charge of the Chira-Piura Special Project (PECHP) to close the gates to lower the water and locate the body of the young Santos Erazo, whose family is of very low economic resources.
“We request that the PECHP close the gates so that the water goes down and finding it. We also ask that the authorities support us with vans to tour the wide channel,” said Juveco leader Wilmer Rosales.
