Quático, Virginia, USA.- The Director General of Migration, Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester, ARD, warned that the rise of technology has diversified the way in which the drug scourge of the drug traffick integrity and strength of our families. ”
The Alto Military of the Navy and currently General Director of Migration expressed their criteria when exhausting its turn as a special guest in the 124 graduation of the SIU basic course taught by the Training Office of the United States Anti -Drug Agency (DEA).
In the activity, Lee Ballester participated with Vice Admiral José Manuel Cabrera Ulloa, president of the National Drug Control Directorate. Both were invited by the DEA station and the acting ambassador of that accredited country in the Dominican Republic, organisms to which they thanked the invitation.
Cabrera Ulloa, on behalf of President Luis Abinader, made recognition of the administration of the host body, “for having strengthened international and potential cooperation the impact of our joint operations.”
He explained that in the last five years the country has confiscated 224 tons of illicit drugs, “a record that consolidates our regional leadership in the fight against drug trafficking.”
He explained that in 55 successful operations more than 10 tons of cocaine, 800 pounds of marijuana and illicit substances have been seized, 120 vehicles, 111 vessels and more than 18.5 million dollars, firearms, ammunition and captures of extraditable extraditables sought by US justice have been seized.
“These achievements are not chance products, but of the professionalism of our agents, trained in programs such as this basic course,” he said.
In the course, very high level of specialization, 6 Dominicans, 19 Colombians, 6 Ecuadorians and 6 Peruvians graduated. Lee Ballester, on the other hand, when addressing graduates reminded them that they were prepared to combat one of the most complex activities of transnational organized crime, such as drug trafficking, money laundering and related crimes.
“Our theater of operations has diversified, reaching the point that today we have to execute anti -narcotics operational tasks in cyberspace and also fight with new drugs such as fentanyl and synthetic drugs, whose production and transport modalities are very different from those we were accustomed to a few years ago; hence the expertise and ability of each of you will play an important role within your organizations,” he said.
He also urged them to be observers and cautos “to develop the ability to navigate in any type of seas safely and can face any storm without matters that are of large waves, strong winds and currents, so that they are always men and women of value, committed to the best interests of our nations.”
“I want to urged them to have faith, trust God and you so that you never let yourself be persuaded by people who seek in us a means to achieve their criminal purposes; resist temptations,” he said.
The DEA training academy is a state -of -the -art body that traits personnel at an advanced level to develop special skills and leadership, focusing on the application laws specialized in narcotics and dangerous drugs, asset confiscation, intelligence training programs, transit and international mobility, clandestine laboratories, diversion of pharmaceutical products and international training programs.
