The Natal Public Pesqueiro Terminal (TPP) (RN) was auctioned on Monday (18) at the B3 Stock Exchange, in São Paulo, and bought by the company Turc Operations Marítimas Ltdawhich works in naval engineering.
The only one to comply with the auction rules, the company offered R $ 21 thousand in grant value.
Currently, the terminal is not in operation, with works stopped.
“We are talking about the creation of a modern infrastructure that will guarantee the quality and traceability of fish, combining the state’s strategic vision to the dynamism of the market to add socioeconomic value to all,” said MPA acting minister, Edipo Araujo.
According to MPa’s general infrastructure and development coordinator, Clecius Nerby, The new terminal will allow the Potiguar fisherman to secure safely, disembark fish with ideal sanitary conditions and achieve better markets.
“This process was built on pillars of flexibility and legal certainty. This is a modern model that aligns the public interest of fostering fishing with the need for the profitability of the private investor,” he said.
From 2006 to 2011, the state produced about 50 thousand tons per year of fish, especially tuna. The terminal will also be used to receive creation shrimp, as Rio Grande do Norte is the largest national producer, according to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
The terminal concession period will be 20 years. The estimated amount for the terminal in operation is more than R $ 185 million, according to the notice.
The winner of the event should make improvements in the conditions of reception, treatment, storage and marketing of fish, with reduced waste and increased health quality.
