Poverty in Mexico has managed to reduce substantially in the last eight years, according to the multidimensional measurement of poverty.
The cut of 2024 was observed that 3 out of 10 Mexicans face some level of poverty, according to figures reported by the INEGI. This is almost 10 percentage points less than in 2016.
Despite the advances and exit of millions of poverty Mexicans, inequality gaps persist.
While some states have managed to reduce poverty to minimum levels, others have more than 65% of their population in poverty.
Baja California was the entity with the lowest level of poverty of the 32 that the country has; with 9.9% of its inhabitants in lack.
The ranking of states with less poverty was completed Baja California Sur and Nuevo León. In general, the northern states are the ones with the lowest population with some level of poverty.
