Synchronizes a new solar park in Mayabeque and the centrals without fuel rise

A new solar park synchronized this Sunday at National Electrical System (SEN). This is the La Sabana Park, located in San José de las Lajas, in the province of Mayabeque.

The installation, of 21.8 MW, is the first of its kind that connects in the Mayabequense territory. It was launched after months of “arduous and complex work”, According to the Electric Union (UNE)that presented it as “an advance” of the “national strategy to mitigate the complex energy situation facing the country.”

This strategy includes installing 92 new parks in the coming years. Of these, so far they have come into operation 25, among which the UNE still does not count on the savannah.

Those parks yesterday delivered 2498 MWh, with 473 MW as maximum power at noon, at a time when the country is going through an exacerbation of the energy crisis, marked by the repeated breakdowns and the lack of fuel.

This last motive today maintained 68 distributed generation centrals, eight more than yesterdayalthough still far from other times when even more than a hundred centrals arrested for that cause have been.

Meanwhile, eight thermal blocks remain disconnected by breaks and maintenance, a figure similar to that of this Sunday, although some additions were planned. Other units are kept out for a long time amid prolonged repairs.

This Monday

After another morning of blackouts, at 6:00 in the morning there were 1250 MW affected in the country due to capacity deficit. That same figure is the one planned by UNE as an affectation for noon.

For the night peak the scenario will be complex again. One more time.

In that time strip the official forecast contemplates the entry of 100 MW in distributed generation engines that are out of fuel, as well as the entrance of Unit 5 of the News of Nuevitas with 60 MW, a block that was already in the process of starting.

If so, availability would amount to 2100 MW. However, the estimated demand is very high (3800 MW), which – along with other technical factors – must raise the affectation to 1770 MW, superior to that reported yesterday (1698 MW).

With this, again about 50 % of the country’s electrical consumers will be dull simultaneously, but that estimated could fall short if – as usual, another fault occurs or there is any problem in the planned additions.
