UFC 319: CHIMAEV DOMATINATES DU PLESSIS TO WIN MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Khamzat Chimaev has won the UFC Middleweight Championship by defeating Dricus du plassis in a one-covered Fight at the United Center in Chicago on August 16, 2025. Chimaev domain the match and won by unanimous decision, with all Three Judges scoring it 50-44 in his favor.

This Victory Makes Chimaev the undisputed UFC Middleweight Champion. Du Persissis was defending His Title for the Third Time Against Chimaev, Who is Raked No. 3 and Is Known As a Top Fighter in the UFC.

Chimaev Controlled The Fight from Start to Finish. He Took Down du Plessis in the Opening Minute of Event Round and Successfully Completed 12 of 17 Takedown Attempts. According to UFC Data, He Spent 84% of the Fight in Control.

Du Plessis Faced His First Loss in The UFC, Falling to a Record of 23-3 in His MMA Career. Although He Briefly Took The Upper Hand in the Final Round With A Guillotine Choke, Chimaev Escaped and Regained Control Until The End of the Match.

Chimaev expressed His Happiness After The Fight, Stating, “I Never Have a Game Plan, Just Go In and Work Like I do in the gym.” He Also Showed respect for du plesisis, saying he is a Strong Fighter with a Big Heart.

Du plesssis accknowledged chimaev’s skill, stating, “I have incredible control on top … he was The Better Man Tonight. I’ll Be Coming To Get My Belt Back, But for Now, It’s His. Chimaev’s Win Extends His Unbeaten Streak in the UFC to 15 Fights.
