Writer Luis Fernando Verissimo was admitted to this weekend at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Moinhos de Vento Hospital in Porto Alegre (RS). 
According to family and friends, the medical team treats a principle of pneumonia and other symptoms related to the chronicler’s health conditions.
In a statement released late Sunday afternoon, the hospital reported that the state of Veríssimo is serious and that it continues to receive all necessary support measures.
The chronicler has Parkinson’s disease, heart problems and suffered a stroke in 2021. A year later, he received a pacemaker in his heart.
At 88, Verissimo has a dynamic professional career such as cartoonist, translator, screenwriter, publicist, reviewer, playwright and novelist. His work is marked by good humor, assertiveness and criticism. In addition to the words, it is a music lover, dedicated to the practice of the saxophone.

Son of writer Érico Verissimo, Luis Fernando Verissimo has published more than 80 titles, including the lies that men tell, the popular: chronicles or something, the great naked woman and ed mort and other stories.
It was the chronicles and tales that made him one of the most popular contemporary writers in the country. The Bagé analyst, released in 1981, had the first edition sold out in a week.
