In the until a few days ago district of Santa Rosa de Loreto, in the Chinería Islandmore Peru breathed than ever this Friday. President Dina Boluarte arrived in this border area to ratify Peruvian sovereignty on this Amazon island that always smelled of homeland.
There, in the midst of a population waiting in the central square to be claimed and attended, the head of state made it clear again that the sovereignty of Santa Rosa “is not under discussion.” A firm response to the repeated provocations of Colombia, initiated a few days ago by President Gustavo Petro and his daring to ignore international treaties.
“We will not yield a centimeter of our territory or allow for respect.
“No one is left with the slightest doubt that Chinería Island and its Santa Rosa district are as Peruvian as the Pope and Machu Picchu. We are attended by law, treaties, reason and especially our hearts,” Boluarte emphasized, which reached this Peruvian island accompanied by the Premier Eduardo Arana and a group of ministers, as well as the brand new president of Congress, José Jerí and some legislators.
The president questioned the recent actions of provocation towards our country by some irresponsible Colombian citizens.
“Unfortunately, for a few days, messages have been launched and performing unacceptable actions that affect the brotherhood that unites our two nations, and in particular to the border communities,” said the president, making it clear, in addition that our country respects the Colombian people with whom they share historical ties: “We encourage the respectful treatment between sibling peoples and thus must be maintained.”

The presence of the main faces of the government in that area and the tense diplomatic and social moment that is lived, served for the president to announce some measures in favor of that forgotten district, among these the implementation of a port terminal of load and a floating supply market.
Boluarte recognized the neglect for a long time on the borders of our country: “That will end today. I have arranged measures to improve the quality of life of the population in the Santa Rosa de Loreto district,” he said announcing that drinking water treatment plants will be installed.
The president promised that each family will have the necessary services to develop their life with dignity and that it will be completed with the title of land. At the end of her speech, the head of state raised the Peruvian flag.
