Family members and civil society movements held an act in memory of the ten years of Osasco (SP), Barueri (SP) and Itapevi (SP), which took place on August 13, 2015. 
In these municipalities, within 7 kilometers, between 9 pm and 11 pm that night, 19 young people were murdered by military police (PMs) who acted in revenge for the deaths of a military police officer and a metropolitan guard on days earlier. Of the total of 19 deaths, 15 occurred in Osasco, three in Barueri and one in Itapevi.
The act, organized by the 13 de Agosto Association and the Mothers of Osasco and Barueri Movement, took place in a space on Alagoinha Street, in Jardim Mutinga, Barueri. The demonstration was attended by representatives of other associations of mothers of slaughter victims, such as Mothers of May, Baixada Santista; and mothers of Manguinhos, from Rio de Janeiro.
Antônia Lúcia Gomes da Silva, mother of Jailton Vieira da Silva, killed at the age of 30 in the slaughter, said that, besides the pain of the loss of her son, she had to move from Embu-Guaçu, in São Paulo, to Barueri, not to lose the guard of the three grandchildren, who were orphaned.
“I had to leave my life inside to come here to take care of the grandchildren. Because if I had not come, they would for donation. And I left everything inside come here. That day [em que soubemos da morte do meu filho] My mother had a stroke, stayed in bed. Now, 2 months ago, she passed away. ”
According to Silva, so far, she has not received any kind of compensation from the state. “They said that we will be entitled to a pension and compensation, but so far nothing.” “No one does anything. The policeman is already on the street working. He can do the same thing, go out killing [novamente] People, black, poor people and the periphery, ”added Antonia.
Jailton was in a bar in Barueri waiting for a pizza when he was killed. “He was sitting at the bar door waiting for the pizza, they pushed inside and already shot.”

Punishment
Aparecida Gomes da Silva Assunção lost his son Leandro Pereira Assunção, 36. She asks punishment to the perpetrators of the crime and says she sees no justice being done. “You don’t see punishment, you see just happening to other mothers [a mesma coisa]”.
“See other boys losing their lives, in exchange for nothing, police killing, as always, and has no justice. Because when it starts to punish, really have a severe punishment, I think it may improve. But in the meantime, the lament of mothers, family, because it lives in the periphery or because it was in the wrong place.”
Constant grief
Rosa Francisca Correa, mother of Wilker Thiago Correa Osorio, killed at age 29, says her son was murdered with 40 shots in the return of work. According to her, the crime ended the lives of all the families involved.
“When this happened, not just with my family, ended up with everyone’s family. All mothers live a constant mourning. And this grief we will take with us.”
“At the time I lived at Engenho Novo, in Barueri, and he was coming back from the service with his backpack on his back, with the lunch box and a fork inside. And he was killed in the back with 40 shots. Unfortunately, he doesn’t even know why he died.”

Judgment
Two years after the slaughter, four police officers went to trial. Two of them, Fabrício Emmanuel Eleutério and Thiago Barbosa Henklain, were convicted of the crimes. Eleutério was sentenced to 255 years, seven months and ten days in prison. Already Henklain received a sentence of 247 years, seven months and ten days in prison.
In that trial, Civil Guard Sérgio Manhanhã was also sentenced to 100 years and ten months in prison. Former PM Victor Cristilder dos Santos, tried separately, in March 2018, was sentenced to 119 years, four months and four days in prison.
However, the defenses appealed, and a new judgment of the case was held in 2017. Both Cristilder and Manhanhã were eventually acquitted.
Sought by Brazil agencythe São Paulo Public Security Secretariat reported that the Police Inquiry established by the State Department of Homicides and Protection of Persons (DHPP) to investigate the case was completed in December of the same year, “with the identification and indictments of eight people – seven military police and one GCM [guarda civil metropolitano]”According to the secretary,” all PMs involved in the case were expelled from the corporation. “
