Municipal secretary shows the awnings bought by the Mayor's Office and denies overpricing

The municipal secretary of Health, Roberto Vargas, arrived early at the Covid diagnostic point, located in the Sub-mayor’s Office of municipal district 9 (South zone), to respond again, with documentation in hand, to the complaint of the purchase of awnings with an alleged overprice, recently carried out by deputy Luisa Nayar.

“We invite her to show the difference of what she shows and makes a complaint with the metal structures and awnings that we (the Mayor’s Office) have bought,” said Vargas as he toured the place with little assistance from people.

“The white structure that we have bought is 240 square meters with a capacity of 15 vehicles, while the red one she shows, only one vehicle enters”, explains the municipal official.

Vargas again rules out the alleged overpricing. “It is a purchase with a lower price than the previous management. We have saved Bs 70,000 in the purchase of the 7 awnings”, he assured.

According to data from legislator Nayar, the Mayor’s Office would have acquired the awnings at a price of Bs 79,000 each. It also showed the quotes that suggest a unit price between Bs 5,000 and Bs 20,000, respectively.
