After the broadcast on social networks of audios about an alleged telephone conversation of the Attorney General of the Republic, Alejandro Gertz Manero, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador considered the leak of the call as an attempt to knock down
to the official, just as there are those who they are watching how they derail
to your government.
When asked during his morning press conference about those audios – presumably a dialogue between Gertz Manero and Deputy Attorney General Juan Ramos about an alleged sentence project related to the litigation he is holding with the family of his deceased brother – the president confirmed his confidence in the head of the FGR.
The head of the Executive called to wait for the Judiciary to resolve and asserted that, unlike previous governments, the President no longer intervenes in matters of this type.
Now the Attorney General’s Office, as it was called before, does not depend on the President, it is already an autonomous entity, and of course the Judiciary, they are independent. I have met with ministers I think on three occasions in three years, and of course I have been present at the three reports of the President of the Court, that is all; I have never used the telephone to speak to the President of the Court, these are different times.

Regarding the dispute between Gertz Manero and his brother’s family, he stated: I understand the personal, moral, human situation of the prosecutor because it is a matter related to his brother, I understand it; So he wants justice done. The other party is defending his version of his events. In any case, it will be in the Judiciary where it will be resolved
.
He added that if you are going to use your position to influence the case, you would have to wait for the result of the ministers, you have to wait for the trial, because it does not depend on the Prosecutor’s Office, it depends on the Judicial Power
.
He also said that the subject not without political overtones
