Dina Boluarte will visit Chinería Island this Friday 15: All the details here

This Friday 15, the President Dina Boluarte will visit the district of Santa Rosa, in the Chinería Island, Loreto region, a Peruvian territory on which the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, questioned his sovereignty.

As confirmed by Max Ortiz, representative of the District Municipality, the Peruvian Government already notified them about the visit of the president, which would take place this week, with an attempt for Friday, August 15.

“We have confirmation of its arrival, but we have no time or the exact date. We will receive it well because it signed the resolution for the creation of this new district,” the authority began.

And not only that, but benefited “the development of Santa Rosa from its 15 communities. When its mayor has, it will have their own budget; before we depended on the province of Yavarí,” he added for success.

The visit occurs in the middle of a tense diplomatic climate. Days ago, from Japan, Dina Boluarte He responded to Gustavo Petro’s statements, who did not know Peruvian sovereignty about the Chinería Island.

“It is Peruvian jurisdiction and is within our national sovereignty, so there is nothing pending to deal with the Colombian brothers, in any way” said the president in the midst of her trip to Tokyo.

The head of state urged that “we maintain calm, that unity and that conviction of defending our sovereignty and democracy. We do not have to start, there is no reason, except a borderline pending issue.”

Ministers support

The support of the position of Dina Boluarte also came from the presidency of the Council of Ministers: the Premier Eduardo Arana reaffirmed that Santa Rosa belongs to Peru and that the presence of the State is historical and in force.

“Peru is a country that knows how to dialogue with a vocation of peace. However, we have been firm in the defense of our territory and interests, and there is no borderline difference with Colombia,” said the prime minister.
