The Chilean Police, in collaboration with the Prosecutor’s Office, arrested one of the leaders of the Transnational Train of Aragua linked to the murder of former Venezuelan former Military Ronald Ojeda on Thursday, the organized crime and homicide team (ECOH) of the Public Ministry said Thursday.
According to the information released, the detainee is of Venezuelan nationality, is in an irregular situation and is a member of the faction “the pirates”.
The capture was given after several operations and raids registered in recent days in Santiago and joins other members of the band arrested at the beginning of the year in Chile, who are in preventive detention.
In March of this year, the Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto Van Klaveren, and the National Prosecutor of Chile, Ángel Valencia, reported a meeting with authorities of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to “deliver context information” about the crime of former Venezuelan former Military Ronald Ojeda, which occurred in February 2024 in Chile.

At least 16 people have identified themselves as participants in the military’s murder, seven of which are detained in Chile. Two other suspects are in Colombia and two more in the United States, all in the process of extradition to that nation.
The Venezuelan military, dissident and political asylum in Chile, was kidnapped on February 21, 2024 at his home in Santiago for a group of men dressed as Chilean police officers. His remains were found 10 days later in a peripheral town of the city and buried under a concrete block.
