During the Mañanera Conference on Wednesday, August 13 Roberto Capuano, general coordinator of the Olinia Project, confirmed that the estimated prices will range between 90 thousand and 150 thousand pesos, according to the model and the type of use. In addition, the logo was presented with the figure of a rabbit, which will be the image of the brand.
“Our goal is to carry electric mobility affordable to millions of Mexicans, without having to borrow for life to have their own vehicle,” he said.

This will be Olinia’s electric vehicles
Capuano explained that the first two models in development share the same vehicular platform and are designed to cover very specific segments:
1.- Barrio Mobility: Compact and agile vehicle, designed as a substitute for the Mototaxi, with the ability to transfer passengers more safely and less pollutingly in colonies, peoples and rural communities.
2.- Last mile deliveries: adapted unit for small businesses and companies that need to distribute products at short distances, with sufficient space for light load and low maintenance cost.
3.- The third model, which will be presented later, will be for personal use and will seek to compete with small internal combustion cars in price and benefits.

They can be loaded in any plug
According to the official, the Olinia may recharge in any conventional plug and will have enough power to face pronounced earrings.
In addition, its operating cost will be less than that of any gasoline car or even a motorcycle.
“We want to demonstrate that electromobility is not only for rich countries or for those who can pay hundreds of thousands of pesos, but that it can be a reality in our streets,” he said.

They bet on Mexican talent
The final design of the first vehicles will be announced in September. According to Capuano, the project also seeks to generate employment and strengthen the national automotive industry. “We want Mexico to have a brand that reflects our talent and our culture, first here and then in other parts of the world,” he said.
The name Olinia comes from a form of the Nahuatl OL verb, which means “to move.” The federal government argues that development responds to the governing principle that “science is a source of social welfare and shared prosperity”, with the goal that the transition to clean energy is inclusive and does not leave out those who live in areas with less purchasing power.
