The complaints surrounding Martín Vizcarra. Which one took him to preventive detention?

The Judiciary issued on Tuesday five months of preventive detention against former president Martín Vizcarra, another of the ex -presidents who face judicial processes, an apparent custom of the country.

Next, we list the investigations in which former Vizcarra president is involved:

Moquegua region case

The preventive detention finally came to Vizcarra in the midst of the investigations that are allegedly received by having received bribes from construction companies in the period in which he was regional governor of Moquegua between the years 2011 and 2014.

However, this is not the only case that could carry behind bars to the former president. This, specifically, could cause 15 years in prison, although for now the process is in its oral phase.

According to the tax hypothesis, the former regional governor would have received 2.3 million soles for the Lomas de Ilo projects and the Moquegua Hospital that were awarded during their management to the construction companies workínsa and ICCGSA.

In the midst of these investigations, Judge Chávez Tamariz declared the request for preventive detention against Vizcarra founded and ruled that the former president turns five months in seclusion.

Untouchables of corruption

Another case for which the ex -president is investigated is the so -called “untouchables of corruption”, an alleged criminal organization in which Vizcarra participated and operated during his presidency.

According to the special team of prosecutors against corruption in power, ‘the untouchables of corruption’ were dedicated to promoting illegal lobbies to appropriate state money through fraudulent public hiring in decentralized provisions, executing unit of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.

According to effective collaborators, these activities would have taken place during the government of Martín Vizcarra, a syndicated to lead the aforementioned criminal organization.

It is protected by political prejudice, which makes it difficult for the Prosecutor to investigate it while retaining this status

Vaccination

Finally, the former president faces a fiscal complaint for the case of irregular vaccination or ‘vaccination’, which could be imprisoned for up to 8 years, according to the criminal lawyer Andy Carrión.

On 2023, the then prosecutor of the Nation, Patricia Benavides, filed a constitutional complaint against former president Martín Vizcarra and the former health mining Pilar Mazzetti for having been vaccinated irregularly in 2020, on his back to the country. The head of the Public Ministry accuses them of having committed a crime against public administration in the concussion modality (abusive use of position for personal purposes), as authors.

As recalled, the ex-president was hidden with the Sinhaharm vaccine against COVID-19, when no one had even immunized in our country. In February 2021, Vizcarra, then candidate for Congress, acknowledged that he was vaccinated. However, he excused himself by pointing out that it was not the official vaccine, but an essay as a volunteer. His announcement generated that Parliament disable it for 10 years to exercise public office.

The crime for which the former president Vizcarra is accused “sanctions the official who abuses his position and forces or induces a person to compromise something unduly for himself or for others.” In that sense, he considered that both Vizcarra would have abused his position and induced to those who handled vaccines to obtain a personal benefit, Carrión told Peru21.
