President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on Wednesday (13) that he sent a letter to the president of the United States, Donald Trump yesterday, inviting him to come to Brazil during the COP30, in Belém (PA), scheduled for November. 
According to Lula, the event in Brazil will be “the COP of Truth”.
“COP 30 will be COP of what we want to charge from the rulers of the world, whether or not they believe in what scientists say that the world is going through very serious problems. They will have to say whether or not we need to take a lot of arrangements to prevent the planet from being warm up above 1.5ºC. decisions, ”said the president.
Lula participated in the opening of the 4th National Conference of Popular and Solidarity Economy (Conaes), at the Planalto Palace.
The president pointed out that rich countries have a debt of more than $ 1.3 trillion a year because of climate change.
“Everyone who defends the forest standing and who does not know the Amazon has to know that under each canopy of that tree, lives an extractive, lives an indigenous, a fisherman, a small rural worker who need to survive.”
