And there, obviously, we have to be stronger in control, because it cannot be that we make the effort to bring the fuel and there are people who are monopolizing and accumulating fuel, ”Montenegro said.
He mentioned that there were already accidents due to the manipulation of flammable fluids and gave, as an example, the increase in the price of drums for storage. “Even, The drums that cost 10 Bolivians before have risen to 50 Bolivians. Why that? Because there are people who accumulate, ”he said.
He stressed that greater control must be exercised from the competent entities and that private companies that import diesel and gasoline, although their logistics capacity must be added. “You have to see if they have the capital to bring (import). And if they are going to look for foreign exchange in the same local market, it doesn’t make much sense,” Montenegro said.
In that sense, he stressed that the government “has given all the prerogatives” so that companies import diesel and some are doing it. “Others that do not have that logistics capacity, although they may have resources, they will not be able to do it because perhaps the role of YPFB has been underestimated, that has a logistics capacity throughout the country, of storage, delivery at different points, which the private ones do not have, ”he said.
