Banco de la Havana implements online reservations in branches that do not suffer "frequent" blackouts

The Metropolitan Bank (Banmet) of Havana implemented a reservation system on-line to access their services in a group of branches that do not present “frequent interruptions of the electric service”.

The measure, which had already been advanced last Julyis based on the Ticket platform – already used for other “digital lines” – and seeks to “organize access to essential banking procedures and reduce the public agglomeration in the offices”, points The newspaper Granma.

At the moment, it has already been launched at eight branches: 262, 266 and 308, in Havana Vieja; the 280, in Guanabacoa; 247 and 250, in Plaza de la Revolución; the 286, in San Miguel del Padrón; and 313, in Marianao.

The report states that Banmet offices without “frequent” blackouts in which this system is implemented represents approximately 10 % of those existing in the Cuban capital. The journalistic text does not clarify that it is considered “frequent” for the purposes of the measure.

According to the medium, the reservation on-line “It does not replace face -to -order attention, but it works in parallel in those branches that have technical and labor conditions to maintain both active modalities.”

This service, he adds Granma“It is especially oriented to familiar clients with digital operations or prefer to avoid long lines” such as those that regularly concentrate on the outskirts of bank branches.

Its implementation responds to the computerization process promoted by the Cuban authorities and has as its scenario a severe economic and energy crisis on the island, with long blackouts in much of the country that paralyze economic and social life.

Havana begins to try digital queues in banks to “avoid agglomerations”

The system

With the new system, Bandot customers can book between a week and up to 24 hours before the appointment. This will allow you to access services such as deposits, cash extractions “according to availability”, collection of checks, payment of credits, bonds and national transfers.

The reservation is not free: it has a cost of 10 pesos (CUP), which must be paid by means of the transfer or enzone catwalks. However, the service is free “for those who go to the Department of Attention to Complaints and Petitions,” says official information, without providing more details about it.

Although the offices where the system is already in operation are located in a few municipalities in the capital, Banmet “guarantees access to their services regardless of the client’s residence zone,” he says Granma.

In addition, the Habanero Bank incorporated “in a pilot phase” the access by this route to ATMs located within three branches, to expand “the facilities for users.” The report does not require what are the three offices that provide this service through Ticket.

At the end of July, at least two of his branches in Old Havana already had this modality. These were the offices located in Cuba and O’Reilly and in O’Reilly and Compostela, as reported then.

The shifts, needed Havana Tribunewould be available between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm

The Ticket platform was enabled just two years ago. It began in the Purchase and sale of freely convertible currency (MLC) in the 37 Cadec branches in the country. Its initial objective was to put an end to the long lines in the offices empowered for the Recanje service, in addition to avoiding illegalities and contributing to better time management by customers.

From then on, its use has been extended to other procedures, such as the organization of queues for the purchase of gasoline In Havana.
