The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation will discuss this Tuesday, in its last session with the current integration, at least 98 projects of disagreement judgments that challenge the election of two magistrates of the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Court of the Judicial Power of the Federation, among others. However, the majority are expected to be discarded due to lack of legitimation of the promoters.
Until Monday afternoon, the Court had notified to have received 144 trials of this type presented by citizens, former candidates, civil associations and national action parties (PAN) and institutional revolutionary (PRI). All must be resolved before August 31.
In the Plenary Affairs list for today 98 projects of nine ministers are registered, although they could add more. These challenges question the agreements of the General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE) that validated the election and delivery of the majority record to Gilberto de Guzmán and Claudia Valle as elected magistrates of the Superior Chamber.
One of the resources was promoted by Alejandro Moreno Cárdenas, national president of the PRI, along with other members of his party. In their claim they request “the nullity of the election of members of the Judicial Power of the Federation 2024-2025, because there are serious and irreparable irregularities during the preparatory stage and the electoral day that influenced the results, and consequently, the annulment of the agreements of the General Council of the INE that declared the validity of said election”.
In recent days, the Court proceeds to 142 nonconformity judgments. Of these, one was promoted by Iván Bravo, former representative of the PAN in Durango, and was resolved in just three minutes with the unanimity of 10 votes in the session last Monday.
Minister Jorge Mario Pardo Rebolledo explained that the law only allows these judgments to those who integrated the list of candidacies for the July 1 election.
Bravo promoted the trial as an aspiring circuit magistrate on the grounds that his exclusion from the list published by the Legislative Power Evaluation Committee caused a legal damage.
