The IVIC and the force of anti-drug tasks are articulated to study the drug camouflage methods within the framework of the National Anti-Drug Plan 2026-2031.
Representatives of the Anti -Drug Task Force of Venezuela and the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC), held an encounter in order to analyze the threats of drug trafficking in the country and how to address together strategies that allow fighting this scourge.
During the meeting, headed by the National Anti -Drug Superintendent, M/G Danny Ferrer Sandrea, the researcher at the Chemistry Center and head of the IVIC Chemical Waste Management Unit, Nelson Gómez, also participated.
Gómez exposed to those present, new techniques used by criminal gangs for narcotic camouflage, through other substances that prevent the usual detection or tracking of psychotropics.
During his presentation, the researcher called for the strengthening of the laboratories of the Corps of Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations (CICPC), the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) and the country’s research centers, to enhance the anti -drug fight in a joint way.
For its part, Superintendent M/G Danny Ferrer Sandrea, warned about the constant evolution of controlled substances and the immediate need to strengthen the knowledge of customs and control points officials to recognize these new modus operandi of drug trafficking.
Likewise, the M/G Ferrer Sandrea stressed that these experiences will be part of the National Anti-Drug Plan 2026-2031, in order to design an early alert system, with trained officials who can guarantee the security and well-being of the Venezuelan people.
