A new survey reveals that Zohran Mamdani leads the race for the Mayor’s Office of New York City with almost 20 percentage points of advantage over the remaining five candidates.
A Siena College survey published today shows that Mamdani drove her closest competitor, former New York governor, Andrew Cuomo, with 44 % compared to 25 %.
Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa follows him with 12 %, and then comes the mayor, Eric Adams, with 7 %.
Zohran Mamdani won the Democratic primaries for the Mayor’s Office of New York
Cuomo, who lost the Democratic primaries against Mamdani, and Adams, who rejected the candidacy directly, are still registered as Democrats, but seek to apply independently to the mayor’s office.
Surveys show that Mamdani leads significantly among Democrats in New York City, with 55 % support, compared to 32 % of Cuomo.
Sliwa received support from more than two thirds of Republicans in opinion surveys.
