IBGE may hire 9,580 temporary for research

The Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) and the Ministry of Planning and Budget (MPO) published, on Tuesday (12)a joint concierge (No. 58/2025), which authorizes the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics Foundation (IBGE) to hire, for a certain time, up to 9,580 professionals to meet the temporary needs of the agency.IBGE may hire 9,580 temporary for research

The contractors will temporarily do IBGE coordinated statistical research throughout the country.

Authorized Vacancies

Of the total vacancies, 8,480 will be for the position of Research and Mapping Agent of the Institute, responsible for the collection of information. Another 1.1 thousand vacancies are for the function of collection and quality supervisor, to work in the monitoring and supervision of the field work of agents.

Recruitment for the function will depend on approval in simplified selection process, which is usually faster than a public tender.

Selection steps

In this model, the selection steps usually include curriculum analysis, title analysis and, in some cases, interviews.

THE Duration of temporary contracts will be one year and may be extended for up to three years, according to the agency’s need to complete the activities.

The Ordinance also states that the registration opening notice should be published within six months from Tuesday. The remuneration will still be defined by IBGE, observing budgetary issues.
