The Federation of Chambers and Companies of Venezuela (Fedeindustria) expresses its firm rejection of the measures taken by the United States government against that of the country and its president, Nicolás Maduro Moros.
The Board of Directors in full, through a statement, rejected all forms of political criminalization against legitimately elected authorities by the Venezuelan people.
«This decision constitutes an interference act that violates the principles of sovereignty, self -determination of peoples and respect for international law, established in the Charter of the United Nations. It also generates anxiety in the population, encourages a climate of political and social tension, unnecessarily elevates the country risk and increases security expenses, resources that should be oriented to social welfare and economic impulse, ”says the statement.
The business sector also warns of the consequences of this type of measures that directly impact the industrial, commercial and service sectors, “compromising employment, the stability of thousands of Venezuelan families and aggravating the already complex situation that our economy is going through” as a result of the previously imposed coercive measures.
«Fedeindustria, as a union organization committed to the productive development of the country, defends respect for international law and the peaceful solution of controversies. We reiterate our call to the international community to privilege dialogue, respect and cooperation before confrontation, and we exhort not to join practices that violate international law and put the peace and stability of the states at risk, ”says the statement.
