Thousands of young people from various parts of the country are awaited this week in Brasilia to participate in the National Youth Week, promoted by the National Youth Secretariat, linked to the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic.
According to the 2022 Demographic Census, conducted by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), there were about 48.5 million people in the age group considered “Young”, aged 15 to 29 years.
This Monday (11), hundreds of them evaluated the 20 years of the National Youth Policy at the opening of the commemorative week. The event also marked Student Day, celebrated annually in Brazil on August 11.
The National Secretary of Youth, Ronald Luiz dos Santos, known as Ronald Sorriso, argued that only the National Youth Plan, written with the social participation of youth managers from all over Brazil, will determine how a National Youth Policy (NPP) that guarantees the rights of this public should be executed.
“A plan will help to gather the various regulations to determine, from the optics of the youth of the countryside, the cities, from the perspective of black youth, indigenous youth, LGBT youth, young women, from the logic of young entrepreneurs and, finally, the working youth, but this policy for the development of the country,” said the national secretary, ” Youth, Ronald Smile.
