The Public Ministry activated the national campaign “leads for life”, a strategy aimed at reducing the incidence of road accidents through the promotion of conduct responsible practices. The initiative is part of institutional efforts to strengthen public roads and consolidate a preventive culture throughout the national territory.
This action was incorporated with the organisms specialized in traffic matters, including the Land Transit Directorate of the Bolivarian National Police Corps, the National Institute of Land Transportation (INTT), as well as state and municipal police bodies. The inter -institutional articulation allows to expand the scope of orientation and control activities in high vehicular circulation areas.
The days are developed in avenues and streets with high flow of vehicles, where trained officials interact with drivers and pedestrians to reinforce compliance with the standards. Emphasis is placed on the correct use of safety devices, such as the comprehensive protective helmet for motorcyclists, safety belt in cars and respect for road signage, including traffic lights and pedestrian crossings.
The campaign also contemplates the distribution of informative material and the execution of verification operations, with the purpose of identifying risk behaviors and guiding the legal consequences of their breach. The actions are complemented with institutional messages that appeal to citizen consciousness and collective commitment to life.
“It leads to life” is projected as a sustained prevention policy, which seeks to influence the daily behavior of road users. The approach is focused on co -responsibility, understood as an essential principle to guarantee safer road environments and reduce accidents in the country.
