Within this transformation, the solidarity pillar becomes an essential component for older people living in conditions of poverty or vulnerability, who will receive a basic solidarity income.
Equivalent to the amount necessary to overcome extreme poverty, this benefit will be administered by the Department for Social Prosperity (DPS) and will prioritize older women and men who have historically been outside the pension system.
To be a beneficiary of the solidarity pillar, it is necessary to meet, according to official information, with the following conditions:
1) Being a Colombian citizen and having resided in the country at least ten (10) years immediately prior to the date of the application.
2) Do not receive pension from any regime or entity.
3) Not being registered in the Colombia Mayor program.
4) Comply with the minimum age: women of 60 years or more and men 65 years or older, in a situation of poverty or vulnerability according to the classification of the sisbén, or reduced ages in cases of loss of work capacity equal to or greater than 50 %.
5) Belong to prioritized populations, such as indigenous communities, peasants or caregivers of people with disabilities who do not have their own income.

1) Check your eligibility: The solidarity pillar is aimed at people over 65 who have no pension or whose income is low, and who have lived in Colombia for at least 10 years.
2) Gather the necessary documentation: Identity document, residence certificate, and proof of income or not being pensioner is generally required.
3) Request affiliation: You can make the application at any Colpensiones office, online through its web portal, or at citizen service points.
