They arrest boxer for hitting minors

Uncionaries of the Unit Against Criminal Bands Base The Valley achieved the apprehension of a subject, identified as Kelvinyer Salazar, aka “El Chicken”, professional boxer, for the crime of aggression to a minor in the parish La Vega, Caracas.

According to the Public Ministry, this subject proceeded to brutally hit two children named FM of 12 years and YM of 6 years at the time they were playing in the adjacencies of their home.

The athlete will be charged with the crime of frustrated homicide and aggravated physical violence because of the facts.

According to witnesses, the man would have physically assaulted the minors, after holding a dispute with other subjects allegedly under the influence of alcohol. After having consummated the crime, Salazar would have fled from the site.

Salazar is a professional boxer who competed in the 2024 European Championship and in the El Club de Lucha, where he has faced prominent athletes such as Ismael “El Terrible” Flores, Maximiliano Nicolás Segura and Santiago Domínguez.

Different videos published on social networks show the moment when the man hits the child on his face, who was standing next to him during the altercation. Likewise, relatives of the minor published images with whom they evidenced the damage suffered by the victim.

The violent facts against children and adolescent in Venezuela are punishable by the Organic Law for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (LOPNNA) and the Criminal Code.
