The Presidential Honor Guard (GHP) and the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM) issued a statement to reject the recent aggressions of the United States Government against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Constitutional President, Nicolás Maduro Moros. The pronouncement, led by the M/G Javier José Marcano Tabata, commander of the GHP and general director of the DGCIM, occurred in response to the statements of the US attorney general of August 7, which, according to the statement, “are constituted in a flagrant violation of international law” and the principles of self -determination of the peoples.
M/G Marcano Tabata expressed his overwhelming rejection, described the statements as a “permanent monument to lies and falsehood.” In this sense, he denounced that the actions of the US government, which he described as “supremacist,” seeks to destabilize the peace of the Venezuelan people. He also highlighted the Bolivarian and anti -imperialist feeling of the citizens of Venezuela, a factor that considers unwaver and confirmed that “imperialism will not break our Bolivarian morality.”
In this sense, he reaffirmed the legitimacy of Nicolás Maduro as constitutional president of Venezuela and commander in chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), “Protector of the Venezuelan people” and “clear defender of the Bolivarianism and the legacy of Supreme Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Fría”. In addition, his role as guarantor of La Paz and leader of the plan of the seven major transformations for the development of the country stands out.
In the statement, drug trafficking accusations are denied, by cataloging them as an “atrocity” and a “narrative innoble that seeks to position a lie as truth.” The “immense moral reserve” of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) is highlighted, which firmly fights this scourge throughout the national territory, and it emphasizes that the integrity of its members is the basis of that strength.
Commander Marcano Tabata also count on the aggressions suffered by the Venezuelan people since the beginning of the Bolivarian Revolution. He denounced a “sustained attack” that has affected the economy, food, medicines and fuel availability. In addition, he referred to the promotion of terrorist attacks in the country.
During his speech, he affirmed that the United States is a “sinister beast, a destructive force that aims to take over the wealth of our region.” At this point, a parallelism is drawn with the situation in Palestine, said the “wild and cowardly aggression” against its population as proof of its intentions.
In another section of the statement, the preparation of the FANB members, and in particular, of the Presidential Honor Guard was emphasized. “We, the members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, and those who integrate the Presidential Honor Guard, these commanders and the General Staff remain in permanent activity, adjusting the Bolivarian military doctrine to be up to the understanding of the new forms of wars, developing military capabilities.”
Therefore, he explained the work of military counterintelligence officers, who, “honoring the heroic past of the Liberating Army,” protect the FANB from “intelligence and subversive activities of imperialist special services.” They are described as “courageous men and women who are in permanent silence discovering the activities of the enemy.”
To conclude, the M/G Marcano Tabata made a historical reference, cited a passage from the work “Table to Military and Civil History of Venezuela” by Lino Duarte Lebel. The passage speaks of the Rifles Battalion of the Honor Guard of Liberator Simón Bolívar, a unit that stood out for his discipline and courage in battles such as Bomboná, Boyacá, Carabobo, Pichincha, Junín and Ayacucho.
