Sheinbaum expects the CDMX-Pachuca train to be ready in 2027

So far the progress of the work is 4%, however the release of the right of track was achieved where the train will run, so they hope it can work faster.

With trains that can reach a maximum speed of 130 kilometers per hour, the route from Buenavista to what will be the Pachuca terminal station – 57.5 kilometers – will be one hour and 15 minutes, said Andrés Lajous, head of the Ferroviary Transport Regulatory Agency (ARTF).

The new train will have dedicated roads taking advantage of the existing road right, that is, despite running in parallel the paths for passenger trains will be separated from those of cargo trains. It will also have a low environmental impact as it is an electric transport.

“The train is an electric train, it is not polluting, it is silent, it does not produce local emissions,” Lajous said.

The purchase of 15 trains with 100 meters in length is in tender process and it is expected to have the failure at the end of August.

Each train will have capacity for more than 700 passengers, of which 315 will be sitting. It will also have universal accessibility between platform and train and inside the car there will be reserved spaces for people in wheelchairs.

The president stressed that between 2025 and 2026 Hidalgo will have an important development, because at the time of the CDMX-Pachuca train a well-being pole will be created in Tizayuca.

“The idea is that this land can be a true welfare pole of 950 hectares. What does a well -being pole mean that industry can develop but at the same time housing, schools, hospitals and that it is a new development pole for the state of Hidalgo,” said Sheinbaum.
