Colombian war plane
For his part, the Minister of Defense, Walter Astudillo, confirmed that the plane that entered the territory of the district of Santa Rosa was an A-29 Super Tucano model, a high power ship used for air support, land forces operations and combat drug trafficking.
He explained that the flight he made was at low height, between 200 and 300 meters.
Astudillo indicated that coordinations were arranged between the high Peruvian military commanders and their Colombian peers, who assured that the incursion was not intentional.
But the explanations were not enough. Therefore, the Vice Chancellor will send the protest letter to the Foreign Ministry of Colombia.
In that line, the Premier Eduardo Arana announced that in the next few hours the diplomatic note will be sent to the Colombian government and will be insisted that the sovereignty of the Santa Rosa district, in Loreto, is indisputable and is not subject to negotiation.
The Colombian incursion
Thursday afternoon, as reported Peru21a Colombian military plane survived about 30 minutes Santa Rosa Island, in the district of Santa Rosa de Loreto, just when the Premier Eduardo Arana and his team made an official visit.
This island, a hot point on the Amazon border, is at the center of a territorial dispute that has intensified after the recent Peruvian law that declared it district of Loreto.
The aerial maneuver was recorded by settlers and disseminated by Channel N. Although there was no direct shock, from the government they interpret it as a clear sign of invasion to our territory.
There is a question in the air: simple navigation error or first warning of a dispute that threatens to climb?
