The Secretary of Public Education, Mario Delgado Carrillo, informed that, during the 2024-2025 school year, more than 78 thousand students graduated from the National College of Technical Professional Education (CONALEP), of which 7 thousand did it under the dual modality, in which the student alternates the training in the classroom with the training in the productive sectors.
He stressed that this modality offers competitive advantages, such as immediate insertion in the labor market; the possibility of continuing in the company where the practices were carried out; Access to a job bank with more than 2,000 registered companies, or the option of continuing professional studies.
In this cycle, he added: “All students benefited from the Universal Benito Juárez Scholarship of Higher Secondary Education, promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo that covers basic needs and educational expenses.”
Delgado Carrillo stressed that, for the first time, the CONALEP and the rest of the higher secondary education subsystems issued digital certificates with official validity for the termination of studies and professional training, which have QR code, electronic validation and possibility of agile reprint. This innovation seeks to digitize educational services and eliminate institutional barriers, facilitating procedures for the student community.
In terms of health and prevention, he stressed that 56 thousand 701 students from 173 Conalep schools participated in the National Day for Peace and against addictions “Fentanyl kills you. Get away from drugs, decides to be happy.” In addition, 8,137 students from 64 campuses joined the “career for peace and addictions”, and more than 17 thousand took part in the “National Box Class”, as part of the National Security Strategy.
For his part, the head of Conalep, Rodrigo Rojas Navarrete, recognized the institution as a seedbed of sports talents, from which figures such as the pugilist Valeria Elizabeth Infante Pérez, winner of six belts in two years have emerged; Ángel de Jesús Camacho, Olympic medalist with three medals in swimming, and Dana Barba Guillén, national medalist in sports shooting. He also recognized the 30 thousand 801 students who participated in the National Day “Tequios for Peace”, with about 2,000 community actions in 600 municipalities.
In the academic and cultural field, he indicated that the school launched the first two numbers of the Digital Gazette voices of change, created by students to address relevant issues for youth, promoting peace, respect and justice. In addition, progress was made in the program “ATTENTION OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF HIGHER EDUCATION WITH DISABILITIES 2025”, with accessibility works and delivery of adapted and technological materials.
Finally, he pointed out that, through the Directorate of Social Linking, the “11th week with health protection” and the “13th Conalep Week of Environmental Protection” were carried out, to attend communities in vulnerable situations. These actions, he said, are aligned with the objectives of the New Mexican School (NEM), focused on equity, excellence and continuous improvement of learning.
