The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, rejected the attempts of sectors of the extreme right that try to impose chaos and violence in the country, about the terrorist plan frustrated by security agencies in Plaza Venezuela.
“What they try to do for our homeland, we strongly reject it. We have to tell the fascism that here in Caracas we do not want violence. Here our security agencies are attentive, and we must all be attentive to defend the peace that is breathed in our homeland,” said the municipal authority, during the act of swear for the new period as mayor.
To those who direct these plans from foreign territory to generate violence- using the most vulnerable to place the explosives- said “we will not accept it; we are a country of peace and we are responsible for ensuring the defense of our homeland.”
He stressed that the right does not rest in his attempt to generate violence to destabilize the country, so he invited the people to be alert to any strange event they can detect to prevent terrorist acts from being consummated.
“We have the co -responsibility of defending the territory; so we must be attentive to everything that can happen. Social intelligence is very important,” he said.
Likewise, Mayor Carmen Meléndez applauded the diligent action of the State Security agencies before the event that would be executed last Sunday, August 3 in Plaza Venezuela.
“We want to congratulate citizen security agencies, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces that are there in that task of permanent defense for air, sea, land, rivers and mountains (…), we are a people who love peace, of our sovereignty, of our independence,” he said.
Last Thursday, August 7, the Sectorial Vice President of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, denounced that sectors of the extreme right led by the United States tried to specify a terrorist act in Plaza Venezuela. He informed that for that act they were arrested 15 peoplewho have been collaborating with the authorities providing important information on the planning of these terrorist acts that would be executed by instructions from leaders of the extreme right led mainly by María Corina Machado.
In that context, this Saturday, the Minister for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace reported that a lot of 1,137 content boxes of explosive material that would be used in violent actions against the people.
