Santo Domingo. – The president of the National Federation of Transportation The new option (Fenatrano), Juan Hubieres, presented this Saturday a series of proposals to improve mobility and reduce vehicular congestion in the National District.
The proposal of the union leader includes the optimization of the cable car project in the paint zone and the reorganization of bus routes and minibuses that connect with the great Santo Domingo.
The transport leader said that the location of the paint cable car must contribute directly to the decongestion of February 27 Avenue and become the main connection point for transport from the southern region of the country.

Hubs also raised that part of the basement, first and second level of the terminal become patios of arrival and exit of bus and minibuses that belong to the southern part of the country.
There were also proposed to integrate this terminal with the southern-east cable car courtyard of Independence Avenue, which would allow to relieve congestion in that road and reduce the entry of heavy vehicles to the urban center of the National District.
According to there, the runners of Independence Avenues and February 27, along with their feeding routes, should be responsible for transporting users to current and new destinations, including Santo Domingo Este.
“The Independence Corridor could have several feeders from Quita Dream and other points, reaching the health city in the northern part of the National District and the Malecon in the southern zone, with a branch that runs through the Malecón – George Washington to the floating bridge,” said Hubs.
In the short and medium term, he proposed the construction of monorrieles in the 27 de February and Independence avenues, as well as a third monorriel by the Malecon in replacement of bus, connecting with the Lincoln, Tiradent, Ortega and Gasset and Gasset and Luperón avenues in North-South sense, prioritizing solutions at the ground level due to a lower cost, less construction time and better integration with the central helmet of the national district of the national district.
The leader of Fenatrano emphasized that these massive road solutions would also integrate Isabel Aguilar and Luperón avenues, privileging Monorriel’s systems at land.
With these measures, Juan Hubieres assured that the vehicular overload that currently affects areas such as the Enriquillo Park, Jacinto de la Concha and Concepción Bona, would be eliminated, avoiding the unnecessary entry of vehicles from the southern region to the center of the National District.
