Caracas will start world day by the centenary of Fidel Castro

The International Seminar “Fidel forever”, organized by the National Movement of Mutual Friendship and Solidarity Venezuela-Cuba, will meet in Venezuela, within the framework of the 99th anniversary of the birth of the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and as a preamble to the commemoration of the centenary of the historical leader of the Cuban revolution, to be held on August 13, 2026.

In a recently held press conference, the general coordinator of the Movement, Yhonny García Calles, announced that Caracas will be one of the cities where the world day will begin towards the centenary of Commander Fidel. He stressed that the International Seminar “Fidel per 100PRE” will take place on August 14 and 15.

The event, which will take place at the Bolívar Theater in Caracas, will bring together intellectuals, researchers, historians, their biographer and Cuban and Venezuelan personalities who shared experiences with Fidel Castro, recognized as one of the greatest statesmen in Latin America and the world.

Through four (4) thematic panels, he will deepen his life, work and legacy, addressing his political thinking, the Cuban revolution, his struggle for peace and international solidarity, as well as the role of youth in the continuity of his ideology.

The panels will include: “The genesis of the thought of Fidel Castro”, “Fidel and his great social work: the Cuban Revolution”, “International solidarity and peace as a strategic axis in the thought of Fidel Castro” and “the role of youth in the continuity of Fidel Castro’s legacy.”

In addition, there will be spaces for song, poetry and cultural expressions that will celebrate with revolutionary pride the beginning of this world campaign in their honor.

This day has the sponsorship of the Embassy of Cuba in Venezuela, as well as Venezuelan political institutions and organizations such as the Simón Bolívar Institute for Peace and Solidarity among the peoples, the PSUV, the JPSUV its youth, the Francisco de Miranda front, the Intersaber Foundation, the Mayor’s Office of Caracas and the Government of the Capital District, among other social organizations. The symposium seeks to reaffirm Fidel’s legacy as a symbol of dignity, social justice and anti -imperialist struggle, inspiring new generations to keep their example alive.
