In Blanco’s opinion, with the repressive wave unleashed after the 28j, the Government of Nicolás Maduro intended a total inhibition by the Venezuelan opposition forces. “That was not so and the response has been to go to the underground to defend. Reward for democracy

According to Blanco, the official response can be the increase in repression against Venezuelan civil society. “Every so often they announce an alleged conspiracy and then the prosecutor comes and puts some citizens imprisoned, that is the dynamic. The MCM strategy team member said that the main objective of the opposition is to restore democracy in Venezuela and for this he needs a fundamental ally like the United States.
“That does not mean to agree and endorse everything the Trump administration does, we want to have the greatest number of coincidences. Trump’s is a government that has come to power as an expression of a polarized society, a factor that seeks global rearrangement, is hardly settling and is disruptive.”
The former minister said he disagrees with the renewal of the license of the American oil company Chevron to continue operating in Venezuela.
“These resources will finance the repressive dynamics of the State and in that sense it does not seem adequate.”

Beyond a presidency
For Blanco the Machado impetus does not respond to a desire to become the first woman president of Venezuela.
“MCM has become a unification factor of Venezuelan society as it was in the primary election, she is in the machine room managing the controls. MCM leadership goes beyond a person, she is the center of convergence of a very important national force.”
The former minister expressed that away from naivety, the democratic unitary platform (Pud) bet because a forceful victory on 28j was sufficient for Maduro to leave the Miraflores palace through a peaceful negotiation.
“There were political and military factors, added to international support, which were advocating because this happened. The recommendation of the Kingdom of Norway was always negotiated, but it cannot be negotiated without an agenda and a clear objective. Blanco said that the Venezuelan people are exhausted from the electoral farce and that is why they did not come to vote in the last elections of May 25 and July 27 of this year.
“Because those leaders who appeared there calling people to vote do not represent anyone. In Venezuela there are not even institutions from where to develop policies, reconstruction has to be almost from scratch because everything is destroyed.”
The strategist said that the situation of deterioration and loss of horizons in Venezuela has to generate the inexorable change.
“There is a genuine concern in many people and the answer is to organize, here there will be a resolution moment sooner or later.”
