Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) presented on Friday the alternate routes before the temporary closure of the floating bridge, which will take place from Saturday, August 9 at 12:00 noon until Wednesday, August 13 at the same time, with the aim of minimizing setbacks.

Through its X (formerly Twitter) account, the institution indicated that drivers that move in a east-west direction can use the Ramón Matías Mella and Juan Bosch bridges. In addition, the morning counterflux schedule will be extended to facilitate traffic.

For its part, in the west-east direction the use of bridges Juan Pablo Duarte and Ramón Matías Mella is recommended, with the extension of the evening counterflow schedule.

Likewise, it is advisable to take as alternate routes Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó (Del Puerto), George Washington, Mexico and February 27 to avoid vehicular congestion.

Public Works said that these tasks seek to preserve security, prolong the useful life of infrastructure and guarantee a more fluid and safe circulation for all users. Therefore, he thanked the understanding of citizenship and recommended planning the displacements in advance.

He urged drivers to respect traffic signs and take the necessary precautions to safely travel during the maintenance period.
