The Olympic cycle towards Los Angeles 2028 begins this Saturday (9) with the opening of the Pan American Games Junior Assumption 2025, first multimodalities competition after Paris 2024. There will be almost 4,000 athletes, at most 23 years old, competing in 42 modalities (individual and collective) in different cities of Paraguay. Even before the opening ceremony, at 21h (Brasília time) this Saturday (9), will take place classification tests of Remo, on the same day, from 8am. Games will have LIVE TRANSMISSION ONLINE (on streaming) on the Brazilian Olympic Committee Channel (COB) on YouTube. The competition will extend until August 23rd. 
The Brazilian delegation has 358 representatives, from new talent to experienced athletes such as swimmers Guilherme Caribé, South American champion – chosen ambassador of the games – and Stephanie Balduccini, an Olympic finalist and Pan American champion.
In addition to the search for the podium, the competitors aim at the 231 direct vacancies for the Pan American Games of Lima (Peru) in 2027.

Most of the Brazilian athletes landed last Thursday (7) in Asuncion. Among them, Piaui Juliana Viana, 20. In April, the Badminton athlete won to Brazil the unprecedented title of simple to Brazil in the Badminton simple dispute at the Pan American Championship of the sport, in Lima (Peru).
“It’s my second Pan Junior. I have a very high expectation to make a good result, contribute to the Brazilian medal board. I’ve been here in Asuncion also participating in the South American Adult Games, where I left with three gold, so I’m really feeling at home and hope to make a good result,” said Juliana, referring to the first edition of the games, held in Cali (Colombia), 2021.

Unlike the inaugural edition in Cali, the current in Asuncion has gained seven more modalities: Open Waters (Aquatic Marathon), BMX Freestyle cycling, wakeboard (water ski), golf, hockey on grass, rugby sevens and sports shooting.
Brazil led the medal board in the first edition. There were 164 podiums, with 59 gold medals, 49 silver and 56 bronze.
