206 years from Boyacá, Caracas ratifies validity of the Bolivarian ideal

Venezuela congratulated yesterday in an official statement “to the brother people of Colombia and her government when commemorating this August 7” the 206 years of the Battle of Boyacá, “one of the most transcendental deeds in our common history.”

Likewise, it emphasizes that the triumph of El Libertador in this fight laid the foundations of Gran Colombia. “That triumph marked the beginning of freedom in New Granada and laid the foundations of Gran Colombia as a project of unity, justice and shared sovereignty.”

Also, in the statement exalts the heroes who fought in this contest. “Today, 206, Venezuela honors the heroes and heroines of that glorious deed and ratifies the validity of the Bolivarian ideal.”

Finally, it highlights the historical ties of union between Latin American peoples.
Parliamentarians The deputies to the National Assembly also expressed their congratulations to Colombia.

“The Venezuela-Colombia Parliamentary Friendship Group pays tribute to the enormous sacrifices of the Liberating Army, which abandoned everything it owned to surrender to the cause of freedom and whose glorious victory two centuries ago not only consolidated the independence of New Granada, but forged the indestructible brotherhood ties that today unite our nations,” they say.
