Puerto Plata. – The Northern Electricity Distributor (EDENORTE) company reported that several electrical circuits located in the western part of the Puerto Plata province were affected due to the rains accompanied by strong winds that are registered from the early hours of this Sunday in the area.
The institution explained that its technical staff is working continuously to restore service in the impacted areas.
“Our teams are deployed in the affected municipalities with the aim of solving the breakdowns and guaranteeing the restoration of the energy supply in the shortest possible time,” Edenorte said.
Edenorte reiterated his commitment to keep users informed about the advances of repair work, while the civil defense will continue to monitor the weather conditions to adopt additional measures if the situation merits it.

The authorities called on citizens to report any emergency situation through the contact lines of Edenorte and Civil Defense.
Civil Defense Preventive Alert
Given the weather conditions, the civil defense issued a preventive alert for the demarcations of Guananico, the Hidalgos and Villa Isabela, due to the risks associated with the heavy rains, wind bursts and electric storms that could affect the communities.
The entity recommended that the population take precautions, stay in safe places, avoid crossing rivers and ravines, as well as disconnecting electrical equipment in case of atmospheric discharges.
