The fifth edition of the Josone Varadero Festival will be held from August 25 to 31 in the Josone Park of the most important spa in Cuba.
The event organizing committee made its program public this Thursday at a press conference held at the National Hotel in Cuba.
This year’s program offers several changes compared to the previous editions. After two years he returns to be the only headquarters to the largest natural park in Varadero.
In addition, unlike its previous deliveries, this time the festival increases the number of nights with presentations in the park and decreases the amount of concerts per day.
This time Josone will have only one great scenario divided into two sets, unlike previous years in which they worked with two scenarios that occupied different areas of the park. The decision responds to the country’s current economic and logistics, and to seek greater coexistence between artists and participating audiences.
Daily concerts, from the first day
ISSAC Delgado, creator and president of the Josone Varadero Festival, explained that previously the concerts from Thursday to Sunday and this time they will start from Monday 25, and that there will be a maximum of five daily concerts.
Edith Massola, artistic director of the appointment, stressed that Josone will continue in this edition respecting one of her fundamental bases, which is, perhaps, the most plural and inclusive musical event that the country currently has.
In this sense, the program offers not only an amplitude of more than 30 Cuban and foreign artists and groups, but all of them appear as important exponents of genres as diverse as rumba, jazz, dance popular music.
Every night they will be living each of these genres and musical styles, making not only artists converge, but very diverse public.
Josone’s program shows the return to the event of some artists and groups that are almost common in this appointment and opens its doors for the first time to prominent names such as the jester, the son of Teresa and the arrival, Moncada, David Blanco, Cándido Fabré, mom I am shining, Wampi, among others.
The international presence will come this time from Colombia, Spain and Puerto Rico in figures such as the Colombian Salsa Orchestra Manyoma Brothers, the Catalan reggaeton Big Lois and the Puerto Rican singer Yan Collazo, who will be invited at the Haila concert.
For the first time, the Josone Varadero Festival will be coordinated by the National Center for Popular Music, and its director Víctor Rodríguez clarified that they have conceived these days for the entire Cuban family.
The access of minors will be allowed in the park, always under adult supervision.

He also explained that, although the cost for the national public is conceived in 1500 pesos in national currency, half of the price will be charged to those between 12 and 16 years.
The university students will also benefit with this discount, provided that the latter have acquired their entries in prior entries in the Burós enabled for physical sale or online through the ballot.
New points of tickets in cultural centers, theaters, cinemas and stores in the cities of Matanzas, Varadero, Cárdenas and Santa Marta were also announced.

Rodríguez also stressed that the program released can undergo small changes before the start of the event. Other artists are still confirming their participation, as is the case of David Torrens, who did just a few hours before the press conference.
