Oral Health Week will be held in Isidoro Noblía
A joint work of the ASSE oral health program, of the RAP, of the Directorate of Social and Economic Development of the Intendance, of Camcel, of the Rural Development Society, of the Medical Department of the Departmental Government and the Ministry of Public Health allows to organize the 1st week of oral health.
On this occasion the activities will take place in the town of Isidoro Noblía with the support of the municipal government.
“In this to seek to articulate and generate instances of approach to people who live in locations that often have difficulty accessing health services, is that we do and promote this kind of thing,” said the departmental director of Health
“The proposal consists of a week with dental assistance, regardless of the health provider in which each person is attended, both for children and adolescents and adults,” said Liliana Denis.
“For this, what we define are the different places where this assistance is going to be carried out. The childhood and adolescence will be carrying out the ASSE oral health program at school 99 and in the Rural Lyceum of Isidoro Noblía. The part of the adults will be carrying it forward in the consultants that Camcel has in the town through the management of several dentists, for which we have the collaboration of the rap of Cerro Largo Camcel, from the Directorate of Social and Economic Development and the Medical Department of the Intendencia.
The Departmental Health Director commented on a press conference that this week’s organization insumed a lot of articulation and coordination. “We will try this type of instances to play them in other places. The municipality of Noblía through its mayor is very committed to all this. We ask adults who attend to write down that there they will indicate the days and schedules that they can attend to receive this assistance,” he called.
The ASSE oral health program already has a survey of the number of children and adolescents that could potentially be attended. “We also have teenagers who are outside the education system, outside the institutions, we will also receive them. They can pass through the Lyceum or the Mayor’s Office that will be noted to have the opportunity to be assisted,” said Ms. Denis.
About 250 children and adolescents
“We already did a previous survey because we were working there two weeks ago. We discern those who have pathologies and those who do not. Unfortunately we find that approximately 50% in each institution-Caif, schools and high school-we are talking about around 250 children to attend,” said Dr. Luciana Labraga.
For 17 years the oral health program worked in Noblía, except in the last 2 where it was interrupted. “It could not be more for a matter of per diem and other problems,” he said.
This year, the level of children and adolescents was resumed half of the population you present pathologies.
One of the factors that affects Noblía does not have a permanent dentist or by the public or private provider. “That is a must. Personally I go to school and I do all the part of education, prevention and assistance. I alone from my place do what I can inside the school,” Labraga said.
THE INTEGRAL HEALTH OF PEOPLE
“From Camcel very grateful to have invited us to participate. We know that this works well, moreover, we really have a commitment that we monthly help financially not with dentist,” said Dr. Ángela Falcón. “In this instance, a coordination had to be done because the idea is to attend as many people as possible that can attend independently of its health provider. For us it is an important health problem and in a context where it is not easy to access a dentist, it is a good for everything, not only for oral health but for the rest,” he added.
