The Ombudsman’s Office sentenced the “acts of violence” by “still unidentified subjects” against a group of relatives of post -election prisoners during a vigil on the night of August 3 in front of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ).
The vigil was aimed at demanding a meeting with the president of the TSJ, Caryslia Rodríguez, to request the review of the judicial cases of the detainees after the presidential ones of 2024, as well as to denounce the “lack of responses from the authorities” to their requests.
In a press releasedisseminated in social networks, the Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz, asked family members “to present the formal complaint before the Public Ministry to collect evidence that contributes to the investigations before the entity responsible for investigating and exercising the corresponding criminal actions.”
However, a group of attacked mothers and the emergent organization – which supported the protest – denounced that both the Office of Victim of the Public Ministry and the CICPC refused to receive the complaints of aggressions, and barely processed about four individual complaints for theft of identity cards and cell phones by “collective.”
