President Claudia Sheinbaum yesterday referred to the Permanent Commission the appointment of the former Sonora, Claudia Pavlovich Arellano, to be an ambassador of Mexico to Panama, which caused opposition criticisms.
Pavlovich ruled Sonora from 2015 to 2021, and months after concluding his management, she was appointed Consul in Barcelona by then President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, which motivated the PRI’s decision to expel her from her ranks, where she had militated her entire political career.
That position in a consulate did not require the endorsement of the legislative, but this time the permanent must ratify it in the position of diplomatic representative in Panama, a process that includes his appearance and answer questions from senators of all political forces.
In the trade, the president highlights that in the use of the powers conferred by article 89 constitutional, I have been good to name the C. Claudia Pavlovich Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Mexico in the Republic of Panama
.
In today’s session of the permanent, the appointment will be given to the ratification application. Yesterday, PAN Lilly Téllez warned that she will vote against and accused Pavlovich not to sanction those responsible for the fire in the ABC nursery.
