The President Luis Abinader said Monday that the New Criminal Code (Law number 74-25)promulgated by the Executive Power last Sunday, is perfectible.

Abinader recalled, however, that the reform the code will be implemented in August of 2026, and did not rule out that changes are made based on the recommendations that may arrive for their improvement.

The promulgation of the new Criminal Code, which was not reformed since 1884, has generated reactions found in different sectors of society.
