The next deputy secretary of the interior, Manuel Monsalve (PS), will not take office on March 9 – as has been done for years in Chile – to begin the transfer of command. This, to avoid a possible incompatibility with his current position of deputy.
Faced with the dilemma, the outgoing administration and the incoming administration reached an agreement. In this way, Monsalvo’s chief of staff, Gabriel of the Sourcewill replace the deputy secretary of the interior, John Francis Galliand will take over as a substitute between March 9 and 11.

Let us remember that the deputy Juan Antonio Coloma (UDI) filed a letter with the Comptroller to determine whether Monsalve could assume the Undersecretary of the Interior, arguing a possible incompatibility with his position as deputy.
The comptroller body refrained from ruling, indicating that they will see the legality of the appointment when the decision has already been adopted.
