80 years will be held in Cerro Largo with the presence of students, teachers and education authorities
The Dr. Emilio Oribe Teacher Training Institute works in the organization of the 80 -year celebrations of the socio -pedagogical missions in Uruguay.
For the last days of the month of August, the arrival of Cerro long of more than 60 students, also teachers and the main education authorities is expected.
“Since 2010, the new socio -pedagogical missions have been done here. We organize them, we carry them out in different parts of the department. On the other hand, this year the 80 years of the first missions in our country are commemorated, which were in 1945 and were carried out in Tacuarembó” recalled the Professor Cristina Hernández.
For this reason, from the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Training Council in Education a series of activities were screened in different parts of the country to commemorate such a significant date.
Last week an act was held in the city of Tacuarembó, the first department where the missions were held. “A commemorative plaque was placed in the school where several instances were held and made to promote and to remember the spirit of the missions. Those same days will be carried out in Cerro Largo in the last days of August” confirmed to The daily professional.
“Our department is characterized by having a tradition and a rich history in experiences about socio -pedagogical missions” The IFD director highlighted. “Those two days we will receive all the authorities, we will have a historical exhibition on the subject and different activities for the commemoration of the 80 years” advancement.
Students from all over the country
“We are all dedicated to that organization where there will be a great movement. They come between 60 and 70 students from all over the country, about 20 teachers, plus the authorities and people linked to the subject in the department” revealed. “We have many missionaries who are still and that will surely come to accompany us” said.
“This implies a lot of logistics to serve the people who visit us well, the development of the different academic activities” said.
3 memory sites
Cristina Hernández said that the so -called memory sites will be created within the framework of the celebrations. “In Cerro Largo will be 3” advertisement.

The director of the Teacher and Teachers Training Center understands that the rescue of this date is essential. “We as an institution consider it an extension activity, but also a lot of learning for teacher training students. The experiences they have in these practices represent enrichment as teachers and as people. The majority who participate in the missions do so. We have missionaries who have years in this” hill.
